Yoga Classes

How Often Should I Do Yoga?

1 X Week – Change Your Mind
3 X Week – Change Your Body
5 X Week – Change Your Life!

Vinyasa

In Vinyasa classes you will flow from pose to pose using the breath. Each class is a little different depending on the teacher and what they are focusing on for that class. Sometimes you will focus on a certain area of the body, other times you will work your way towards a more advanced or “peak pose”. We try to have fun in our Vinyasa classes and remember not to take life and ourselves so seriously while at the same time honoring the sacredness of the practice. You can expect a balanced class that will challenge you while also leaving you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and wanting to come back for more.

Yin

Yin is a style of yoga where we stay closer to the ground, using lots of props and hold each pose for a longer period of time. This more meditative style is a great practice for those who are looking to build flexibility, range of motion and a deep sense of peace. It is the perfect compliment to your Vinyasa regiment. You can expect to hold the shapes for up to 5 minutes targeting the connective tissues of the body. This is an appropriate style for many groups of people including beginners.

Beginner Vinyasa

In Beginner Vinyasa classes you will flow from pose to pose using the breath in a mindful and slower way. The classes will focus more on proper alignment and technique while helping students to build strength, flexibility and the confidence to join our other Vinyasa classes. Beginner Vinyasa will go over the poses that you are mostly likely to see in Vinyasa classes but are not necessarily the easiest poses. For a true beginner these classes will and should be a little bit challenging. This is a great way for more advanced students to refine their practice and make sure that they are using good habits.

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” ~Fred DeVito

Hints for beginners:

-Let the teacher know that you are new and if you have any injuries or recent surgeries

-Remember that everyone was a beginner at one time
